Artwork created through the City’s Public Art Process must first go through SASpeakUp community engagement to determine the artwork’s theme and other important design aspects. This engagement is quantified through a SASpeakUp survey which provides critical information for artist selection and design.

The City of San Antonio’s Department of Arts & Culture has identified Cassiano Park (indicated by red square) as an opportunity for a public art sculpture project. This project is part of the 2022 Bond Program. The Department of Arts & Culture is at the beginning stages of this public art project. We need your input on important design features of the artwork you’d like to see at Cassiano Park. | El Departamento de Arte y Cultura de la Ciudad de San Antonio ha identificado a Cassiano Park (indicado con un recuadro) como una oportunidad para un proyecto de escultura de arte público. Cassiano Park has a rich history and is an important community gathering spot for generations. Here, people could come together for celebrations and more. The location is also notable for local labor and civil rights history, with many important events happening right here at Cassiano Park. The park also has historical connections to San Antonio’s Produce Row and open-air markets. Cassiano Park is located near the Apache Creek and has connections to the Howard W. Peak Greenway Trails. The park offers several sports and recreation activities including sports fields and a pool. | Cassiano Park tiene una rica historia y es un importante punto de encuentro de la comunidad desde hace generaciones.
