2017-2022 Bond Project: South Zarzamora Street Overpass

Scope of Project: The proposed project will reconstruct South Zarzamora Street to include a proposed bridge structure over South Zarzamora Street, Frio City Road, and the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) intersection. The project will include drainage improvements, signalized intersection upgrades, pedestrian improvements, utility adjustments, right-of-way acquisitions, and other improvements as needed. This project was selected in the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Call-for-Projects and will receive TxDOT funding.

Draft Environmental Assessment and Notice Affording an Opportunity for a Public Hearing
A draft environmental assessment (EA) is available for public review and the City of San Antonio and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) are affording an opportunity for a public hearing on the proposed project. All hearing requests must be received on or before Monday, March 11, 2024.
The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potentially displace two residences and six non-residential structures. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. The draft EA, maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are available for download below and are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 100 W. Houston St., 15th Floor, San Antonio, Texas, 78205.
Any interested person may submit a written request for a public hearing on this project. Written comments from the public regarding the proposed project are also requested. Written hearing requests and comments may be submitted by mail or email as shown in the notice to:
