What you need to know

Global Contractors, LLC will begin construction of essential underground storm drain repairs and utility upgrades. As early as Sept. 4, 2026, the contractor will begin moving equipment into the area and setting up construction signs and traffic barriers.

Phase 0 & 1 - Storm Drain Repairs: As early as Sept 14 through mid-December 2026, crews will begin with underground storm drain repairs on Wurzbach Rd. near the Gardendale Rd. intersection and will start removing old pavement in preparation to install a new CPS Energy gas line along the southbound lane on Gardendale Rd

Traffic Impact

• Expect occasional, short-term lane closures on the eastbound lane of Wurzbach Rd. near the Gardendale Rd. intersection.
• One lane of Gardendale Road will be closed, however, two-way traffic will remain open throughout phases 0 & 1.

All local businesses will remain accessible at all times.

Overall Project Information

This Bond Project will construct a three-lane roadway and install an underground storm drain system. Additional improvements include a wider sidewalk on the north side of the street, a shared-use path on the south side, new curbs, updated driveway approaches, and utility relocations.
