What you need to know:
- South Alamo & Nueva Emergency Utility Repairs: The contractor continues emergency utility repairs at South Alamo & Nueva. The utility repair work is expected to be completed by the end of Thursday, January 29, 2026, weather permitting. To facilitate traffic South Alamo will remain open southbound with flagman as needed. No road closures are expected.

South Alamo & Nueva – Emergency Utility Repairs
What you need to know continued:
- Revised date: South Alamo (Nueva to Market Street) Traffic Switch: Beginning as early as Wednesday, February 4, 2026, the contractor will switch traffic on South Alamo from Nueva to Market Street to the eastside roadway. The eastside sidewalks will be re-opening along Hemisfair, and the westside sidewalks will be closed.
- The contractor continues sidewalk and traffic signal work at the southeast corner at South Alamo & Market Street. The contractor will work double shifts including night work on Tuesday January 27, thru Thursday, January 29, 2026, to complete work at this intersection. During the day, they will complete demo work, and at night, they will be forming and steel tying for sidewalks.
- The contractor continues sidewalk and traffic signal work at the northwest corner at South Alamo & Market Street. To facilitate traffic, eastbound Market Street traffic will be able to take a left or right turn on South Alamo, and one traffic lane eastbound on Market Street will be open. Two-way traffic on South Alamo from Market Street to Commerce remains open.
- Beginning as early as Friday, February 6, 2026, the contractor will re-open westbound traffic only on Nueva from Hemisfair. Parking lot access to the Magik Theatre remains open on Nueva and closed on South Alamo. Access to Nueva is provided from Hemisfair.

- Nighttime concrete pours continue thru January and February 2026 as needed
- South Alamo continues to have a single southbound traffic lane open
- Eastside sidewalks opened from Market to Cesar Chavez.
