District 8 Quiet Zone

The San Antonio Transportation Department will be making improvements to one railroad crossing within the District 8 Quiet Zone to maintain compliance with federal regulations.

Improvements include:

  • Installing signs
  • Adding and refreshing pavement markings
  • Extension of raised concrete medians

What's Happening?

Construction start: September 2026

Completion: December 2026*

Huebner Road:

  • Lane Closure – 1 day for signs and striping
  • Detour – 1 day for concrete work (2 days)

Total working days: 2 days

Drivers can expect flagging crews onsite to assist with lane closures (should they be necessary) and will only be working during daytime hours.
