River Walk Strategic Plan
River Walk Strategic Plan
Originally developed as a linear park, the River Walk was improved in the 1940s as a progressive flood control and beautification project. It has been central in shaping development in Downtown San Antonio for the last 80 years. The City of San Antonio is committed to efforts that support business growth, facilitate activation, and reinforce the River Walk as a world-class destination for residents and visitors alike.
Led by the Office of Historic Preservation, a new River Walk Strategic Plan is being developed to provide the framework for future decision-making and investments related to the River Walk. This project will offer many opportunities for you to tell us what improvements you'd like to see!
