Mission Road Bike Lanes

The Transportation Department will be upgrading 2.5 miles of existing bike lanes on Mission Road, between Roosevelt Ave north of Interstate-10 to Roosevelt Avenue near Mission San Jose.

Construction begins: July 2026

Estimated completion: October 2026*

Improvements include:

  • Creating a safer and more comfortable space for people biking by adding extra distance between bike lanes and traffic with a painted bike lane buffer
  • Adding protected bike lanes near Mission Concepción
    • Between Parkview Dr and Theo Pkwy
    • Between Felisa St to Benita Street
  • Refreshing existing markings
  • Improving the Riverwalk Trail connections
    • near Yellowstone Street
    • near Riverwalk Mission Road Trailhead
