Trinity University MLK Commemorative Lecture
Trinity University will also host its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Lecture during DreamWeek. This year’s keynote speaker is Lerone Martin, Ph.D., who will present a lecture titled “Young King” on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 7 p.m., in Stieren Theater.
A historian of religion in the twentieth century, Martin is currently the faculty director for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute at Stanford University, where he is also the Martin Luther King, Jr. Centennial Professor in Religious Studies, African and African American Studies, and The Nina C. Crocker Faculty Scholar.
Directions and parking options to help guide you to Parker Chapel:
- Primary Parking Option (Chapel Lot): From Hildebrand Avenue, head west to Shook Avenue. Take Shook Avenue to Oakmont Court and follow it until it dead-ends into the chapel parking lot
- Additional Parking on Oakmont Street: If the chapel lot is full, park along Oakmont Street. Both sides of the street are available for parking. You can also park in any space along the west side of the campus.
- Overflow Parking at Alamo Stadium: If no spaces are available on Oakmont, park in the Alamo Stadium parking lot off of Stadium Drive. A shuttle service will run between Alamo Stadium and the chapel, starting at 5:45 p.m. and again after the lecture.
