District 4 (Corpus Christi) Quiet Zone

The San Antonio Transportation Department will be making improvements to five railroad crossings within the District 4 (Corpus Christi) Quiet Zone to bring the crossings into compliance with federal regulations. Improvements include:

  • Installing signs
  • Adding and refreshing pavement markings
  • Extension of raised concrete medians

What's Happening? ​

Construction start: September 2026

Completion: December 2026*

Detours will be required for all crossings:

  • Hutchins: Detour - 1 day for signs and striping and 1 day for concrete/median (2 days)
  • IH-35 WB: Detour – 2 days for signs/striping
  • IH-35 EB: Detour - 1 day for signs/striping

Total working days: 5 days
