Current and planned work:

  • Repairs continue with concrete and riprap work under the bridge.
  • Contractor will start performing minor sidewalk repairs under the bridge as needed.
  • Please be aware of varying lane closure on the street level. Please slow down when workers are present. We appreciate your patience.

Citywide Bridge Improvements LF (Villita Street) Construction Notice

 

Phase 1 | Northside: Villita St. phase 1 rehabilitation work will be occurring on the northside rail of the Villita St. bridge over the Riverwalk starting as early as 2/24/2025. The northside parking lane on Villita St. and the northside traffic lane will be closed. To facilitate traffic, one westbound traffic lane and one eastbound traffic lane will be open at all times. Pedestrian and ADA access on the northside at the street level will be closed for the duration of phase 1.  Pedestrian and ADA access will remain open on the southside at the street level. There is no existing river level access to surrounding businesses or pedestrian and ADA access to the Riverwalk to maintain. Phase 1 is estimated to complete on 3/26/2025.
*Please note parking meters on the northside and southside will be restricted to no parking at all times.

 

Phase 2 | Southside: Villita St. phase 2 rehabilitation work will be occurring on the southside rail of the Villita St. bridge over the Riverwalk starting as early as 3/12/2025. The southside parking lane on Villita St. and the southside traffic lane will be closed. To facilitate traffic, one westbound traffic lane and one eastbound traffic lane will be open at all times. Pedestrian and ADA access on the southside at the street level will be closed for the duration of phase 1. Pedestrian and ADA access will remain open on the northside at the street level. There is no existing river level access to surrounding businesses or pedestrian and ADA access to the Riverwalk to maintain. Phase 2 is estimated to complete on 3/28/2025.

Phase 1 | Northside: E. Martin St. phase 1 rehabilitation work will be occurring on the northside rail of the E. Martin St. bridge over the Riverwalk starting as early as 2/24/2025. One north traffic lane on E. Martin St. will be closed. To  facilitate traffic, two westbound traffic lanes will be open at all times. Pedestrian and ADA access on the northside at the street level will be closed for the duration of phase 1. Pedestrian and ADA access will remain open on the southside at the street level for the duration of phase 1. River level access to surrounding businesses will be maintained along with pedestrian and ADA access to the Riverwalk for the duration of phase 1. Phase 1 is estimated to complete on 5/30/2025.

 

Phase 2 | Southside: E. Martin St. phase 2 rehabilitation work will be occurring on the southside rail of the E. Martin St. bridge over the Riverwalk starting as early as 5/30/2025. One south traffic lane on E. Martin St. will be closed. To facilitate traffic, two Westbound traffic lane will be open at all times. Pedestrian and ADA access on the southside at the street level will be closed for the duration of phase 2. Pedestrian and ADA access will remain open on the northside

at the street level for the duration of phase 2. River level access to surrounding businesses will be maintained along with pedestrian and ADA access to the Riverwalk for the duration of phase 2. Phase 2 is estimated to complete on 6/05/2025.

Bridge Closure & Bridge Repair Work Update:

Construction Notice

Beginning as early as December 2nd, 2024 thru January 2025. The contractor will start construction work on the bridge at Leon Creek under Culebra Road between Potranco Road and NW Loop 410 Access Road. The contractor will perform repairs underneath the bridge. One NW bound lane will be closed while the bridge is being repaired and as needed. To facilitate traffic two NW bound lanes will always be open, and three SE bound lanes will be open to traffic. Please see the construction notice below and project map.
