The City of San Antonio is developing a Reconciled Plan and Project Inventory for Brackenridge Park.

What is the Reconciled Plan?

In May 2023, City Council approved funding from the Midtown TIRZ to support a new planning effort for Brackenridge Park. Specifically, the effort will consider the following:

  • Brackenridge Park Masterplan (2017)
  • Brackenridge Park Cultural Landscape Plan (2021)
  • Midtown Regional Center Plan (2019)

The result will be a Reconciled Plan and Project Inventory for Brackenridge Park that:

  • Consolidates the goals and objectives of the plans
  • Provides an inentory of uncompleted projects that were identified in the plans
  • Delivers a new evaluation tool and process that will inform future decisions

This new evaluation tool was developed by the Brackenridge Park Stakeholder Advisory Committee through public input. It will be used to inform future decisions about project selection, development, and design. Draft Guiding Principles and Evaluation Criteria can be found below.

Past meetings and membership of this committee can be found here.

We Want to Hear From You!

This is a community-driven process. In January, the consultant team and Office of Historic Preservation launched a comprehensive public input campaign which has helped to develop the guiding principles and evaluation criteria. Two community workshops were held on January 8 and January 30; recordings and outcomes of the workshops can be viewed below.
