The Pass at Market Square is a new recreation area located at the IH-35 elevated highway underpass between Dolorosa and Commerce streets. It features a family-friendly recreation area that includes a basketball court, ping pong tables, swing chairs and tables, murals, and more. The City’s Arts & Culture Department worked with local artists to paint murals on the columns at The Pass that reflect the history of Market Square.

The Pass is free and open to the public daily from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Paid parking is available nearby in the Market Square Lot, 612 W. Commerce St. Guests can reserve sports equipment by contacting the Market Square Team at 210-207-8600.

Every Tuesday evening in June, the City of San Antonio invites you to grab a blanket and head to Hemisfair to enjoy a throwback movie for free! With Downtown Tuesday free parking after 5 p.m. in City of San Antonio parking facilities including the S. Alamo Lot (418 S. Alamo) and the Martinez Lot (309 Martinez St.), restaurants in Hemisfair offering to-go menu items and a food truck, this summer activity is a no brainer. The list of features is as follows:

  • "Clueless"– June 18
  • "The Goonies" – June 25

Movies by Moonlight continues in July at Travis Park! This free outdoor, family friendly event features a movie, food trucks and kids activities on Tuesdays in July. Enjoy free parking after 5 p.m. at City operated garages, lots, and meters as part of Downtown Tuesday (nearby parking is available in the St. Mary’s Garage, 205 E. Travis St.). Leashed pets, lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks are welcome. Check out the July movie lineup:

Make plans to join us for our inaugural Stars & Stripes on Houston Street celebrations beginning July 1, with the biggest and brightest events happening July 4 -7. Don't miss our street parade along the historic promenade in the heart of San Antonio, family-friendly picnics in the parks, festive brunches and stroll opportunities, themed movie nights, paleta and popsicle pop-ups, music and cocktail events, and more!

On Fourth of July weekend, you can catch Salute at Sunset River Parades on the River Walk, saluting all military branches. A can’t-miss is the Stars and Stripes Concert at the Alamo with living history, live music from the U.S. Air Force Rock Band, and a spectacular drone show. The city’s official celebration offers all-day fun and lights up the sky with a fireworks show at Woodlawn Lake Park. For all this and more, view the calendar of events.

2nd Floor: Permanencia Voluntaria by Guest Artist: Efedefroy (Froy Padilla Aragón) 
On the second floor is an exhibition by artist Efedefroy (Froy Padilla Aragón), from Oaxaca, Mexico, titled Permanencia Voluntaria.

Centro Micro-Transit: Request for Proposals

The Little Runner Vehicle

Centro, in collaboration with VIA Metropolitan Transit and The University of Texas at San Antonio, is soliciting proposals from qualified micro-transit service providers to operate an eco-friendly mobility program aimed at facilitating transportation for downtown residents, employees, visitors, and UTSA. Note: Free parking is suspended in the Houston Street Garage on Majestic Theatre show nights. With the exception of major Broadway shows and sold-out performances, free parking is available on most Majestic Theatre show nights in the nearby St. Mary’s Garage, 205 E. Travis St.
