| The Pass at Market Square

The Pass at Market Square is a new recreation area located at the IH-35 elevated highway underpass between Dolorosa and Commerce streets. It features a family-friendly recreation area that includes a basketball court, ping pong tables, swing chairs and tables, murals, and more. The City’s Arts & Culture Department is working with local artists to paint murals on the columns at The Pass. The murals will reflect the history of Market Square and are anticipated to be completed in October 2023.
The Pass is free and open to the public daily from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Paid parking is available nearby in the Market Square Lot, 612 W. Commerce St. Guests can reserve sports equipment by contacting the Market Square Team at 210-207-8600.

| El Grito Cultural Program and Civic Celebration at Market Square

Friday, September 15, 6-9 p.m.
Held by the Consulate General of Mexico, the annual celebration of the Independence of Mexico takes place in the streets of San Antonio outside Historic Market Square. The highlight of this musical, gastronomic and civic celebration is the historical re-enactment of Mexico’s call for independence from Spain.
