Celebrate the end of summer and the back‑to‑school season at Market Square’s Summer Bash, featuring live entertainment, food and artisan vendors, kids’ activities, and school supply giveaways from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (while supplies last).
At 10 a.m., the City’s Arts & Culture Department will host a celebration and ribbon‑cutting for “The Spirit Within,” a new public mural on the north‑facing wall of the Farmer’s Market Building near Commerce and San Saba Streets. The event is free and open to the public.

The City has launched Downtown Thursday, a pilot program offering a weekly lineup of arts, culture, music, food and family‑friendly experiences every Thursday night through August 27, 2026. It’s the perfect way for locals and visitors to explore Downtown San Antonio all summer long.
With free parking after 5 p.m. and a complimentary downtown circulator, it’s easy to enjoy a night downtown. From live entertainment and outdoor activities to exclusive partner specials and hosted events, Downtown Thursday gives guests plenty of reasons to explore. The St. Mary’s Garage (205 E. Travis St.) and City Tower Garage (60 N. Flores St.) are located near the River Walk, Houston Street, and Travis Park and typically have available spaces. Event parking rates (up to $15 at City facilities) may be in effect on busy event days.

Downtown Thursday offers free parking at city-operated parking garages, parking lots and parking meters every Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.

City Tower Sundays offers free parking on Sundays from 7 a.m. to midnight in the City Tower Garage (60 N. Flores St.).

Free public parking is available in Alamodome Lot A on select dates.

SATX Marathon Updates
San Antonio Sports, in partnership with the City of San Antonio, will host the second annual San Antonio Marathon, Half Marathon and SATX 5K this December. Events include the SATX 5K on Friday, December 4 at 8 p.m. and the Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday, December 6 at 7:15 a.m. The event organizers are committed to being good neighbors throughout the planning and event weekend and are available to meet with anyone who has questions or concerns; email marathoncr@sanantoniosports.org for assistance.
