Complete Streets Policy Revision
A Complete Streets policy improves the way San Antonio designs and builds streets and roads. Instead of prioritizing motor vehicles, neighborhoods are designed and built for the safety of everyone including those who walk, bike, use a wheelchair, use public transportation, and drive. The City of San Antonio is updating its Complete Streets Policy from 2011. By improving upon our City's Complete Streets Policy, San Antonio will be better equipped to build meaningful streets that are accessible by all road users while recognizing that not every street will have the same adaptations or improvements.

UPDATE! Thanks to your input, the following revisions have been made to this working Complete Streets Policy document!
- The stakeholder taskforce that represents both City departments and outside organizations reviewed the document line by line to make sure the language was holistic and improving upon the 2011 policy.
- The sections have been reorganized to improve the flow of the document.
- Clarifying language was added to different sections to addresss compliance to the Policy.
- We added the subsection “Commitment to Public Transportation” to emphasize the value of public transit in mobility and improved access - which are important aspects of Complete Streets.
- Language has been added to better address environmental and accessibility concerns within the Policy.
- Improvements to the Implementation Chart, specifically regarding Education efforts.
