Construction to Start - Wurzbach Corridor Sidewalks - Monday, July 29, 2024
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, July 29, on a project to improve pedestrian amenities along Wurzbach Road from I-10 to Fredericksburg Road. Improvements include wider sidewalks, improved ADA accessibility, and better access to bus stops.
The $2.35 million project will be conducted in four phases, beginning with the area between I-10 and Bluemel Road. Work on the first three phases will be conducted primarily at night, seven days a week to minimize impacts to traffic.
The project is scheduled for completion in Winter 2025 (January-March). Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times. Businesses and their parking lots will remain accessible. There will be intermittent sidewalk closures.
- No parking on street 8 p.m. - 6 a.m.
- No parking at any time between Bluemel Rd. and Fernglen Rd.
- Vehicles in the path of the project will be towed to a nearby street.
