Project Update:
South Alamo Nighttime Concrete Pours
Sundt Construction has scheduled nighttime concrete pours on South Alamo between Nueva and Cesar Chavez (Eastside) on August 22nd at 4:00am, August 27th at 2:00am, and August 29th 2025 at 2:00am. The contractor will have additional nighttime concrete pours 2-3 times weekly in September 2025 at 2:00am. This operation will use night lights and concrete trucks. The lighting will be directed away from buildings and downward on the roadway and concrete trucks will have minimum noise. During this operation South Alamo will continue to have one southbound lane open. Please see the maps provided. Thank you.
Current and planned work:
Sundt construction continues utility and reconstruction work on South Alamo (from Market Street to Cesar Chavez). All work is weather permitting. Business access, parking lot and pedestrian access provided. Please see maps provided.
Market Street Storm Drain Update
Market Street east side intersection storm drain work will be starting at the northeast side of Market Street & South Alamo as early as August 14, 2025 thru the end of August 2025. To complete the work crews will temporarily close the northeast stairway to the riverwalk. Sidewalk detours will be in place on Market Street and at the riverwalk level. To facilitate traffic Market Street lane closures remain in place with at least two eastbound traffic lanes open. South Alamo from Market Street to half-way to Commerce will have one northbound traffic lane closed and one northbound traffic lane will be open. Please see maps provided.
What you need to know:
- South Alamo continues to have a single southbound traffic lane open
- Market Street: Lane closures continue thru August 2025 for storm drain work. Two traffic lanes will be open.
- Market Street northeast stairway to the riverwalk will be temporarily closed thru August 2025
- Nueva west of South Alamo: One eastbound traffic lane is closed, providing large truck right-turn access onto South Alamo. Two-way traffic maintained
- Nueva east of South Alamo: Closed for reconstruction thru September 2025. Magik Theatre accessible from Hemisfair Rd
- South Alamo (Cesar Chavez to Nueva): Eastside reconstruction thru September 2025. Soon thereafter eastside sidewalks will re-open
- South Alamo (Nueva thru Market Street): Eastside utility and reconstruction thru February 2026
- South Alamo (Cesar Chavez to Nueva): Westside reconstruction September 2025 thru November 2025
- South Alamo (Nueva thru Market Street): Westside reconstruction February 2026 thru April 2026
- South Alamo & Market: Reconstruction April 2026 thru May 2026
