San Antonio Housing Commission

San Antonio Housing Commission

The Housing Commission serves as a public oversight board to advise on the implementation of the Strategic Housing Implementation Plan (SHIP) and related items. The Housing Commission is also charged with engaging and educating the public on housing related items. This includes creating an annual report and quarterly dashboard on implementation progress, and hosting public meetings on housing-related issues which the subcommittees work to address.

The Housing Commission comprises nine voting members each serving staggered two-year terms. A quorum of five voting members is needed to conduct business on agenda items. The nine members include five at-large community members with a history of neighborhood engagement. The remaining four members are filled by the CEO/Executive Director – or his or her appointee – of the following organizations: Opportunity Home San Antonio (formerly San Antonio Housing Authority); San Antonio Housing Trust; Greater: SATX Regional Economic Partnership (formerly the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation); and VIA Metropolitan Transit.

The Housing Commission meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 11:30 AM. The meetings’ physical location is at City Tower (100 W. Houston St.) and video conference info is provided to join the meeting virtually.

Liaison: Sharon Chan – (210) 207-7950.
