San Antonio International Airport: Public Scoping Open House for the New Terminal Development Project
Notice of Public Scoping Open House
New Terminal Development Project
San Antonio International Airport
Environmental Assessment
San Antonio, Texas
The San Antonio Airport System (SAAS), in coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), intends to undertake a variety of improvements at San Antonio International Airport (SAT) to provide facilities that will accommodate forecast increases in enplanements and airport operations at an adequate level of service. Project improvements include, but are not limited to:
- Development of a new passenger terminal building
- Demolition of structures to accommodate a new passenger terminal building
- Improvements to terminal access roadways
- Construction of a ground transportation center
- Construction of support facilities and utilities
Pursuant to the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and FAA Order 1050.1F, a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) will be prepared for these proposed improvements. The Draft EA will describe the proposed improvements and the impacts associated with the implementation of the proposed improvements on environmental resource categories outlined in FAA Order 1050.1F. SAAS is holding a public scoping open house for the public to provide input regarding the issues to be addressed in the Draft EA. This public scoping open house will describe the general characteristics of the proposed improvements and identify the environmental resource categories to be analyzed in the Draft EA (the next step in the EA process). As a result of your public input a Draft EA will be made available for your review later.
Together with a scoping meeting for regulatory agencies, these meetings will constitute the scoping process for the Draft EA. If an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is required by the FAA, these scoping meetings will serve as the scoping session for the EIS. The public scoping open house will be held at the following time and place:
Tuesday, February 20, 2024, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM Central Standard Time (CST)
Airport Center, 10100 Reunion Place, Suite 350, San Antonio, TX 78216
Free parking is available in the building’s parking garage.
