- 100% ADA accessibility
- Food & Beverage building
- Improved pedestrian connection & circulation
- Lighting system compatible with SAGA Art Installation, Fiesta, other events
- New furniture
- New surfacing
- Pavilion/Stage structure
- Public Restroom building upgrades
- Trees and plants with irrigation

Estimated Timeline Construction Seasons are identified as: Winter (January, February, March), Spring (April, May, June), Summer (July, August, September), and Fall (October, November, December.)
As part of the FY 2023 Adopted Budget, City Council approved $4,500,000 for improvements to Main Plaza, located in Council District 1. The Main Plaza Improvements project was to provide for removal and stabilization of the five fountains and to address other accessibility issues throughout the plaza. In April 2023, the fountain work was completed Phase 1.
In 2023, The Main Plaza Conservancy completed a Master Plan process which envisioned the renovation of Main Plaza with a full redesign to address issues with programming, accessibility, circulation, maintenance, and general daily public use. This vision created a need for supplemental funding to complete design and construction of the expanded scope of work. As part of the FY 2024 Adopted Budget, City Council approved an additional $5,500,000 for a total of $10,000,000 for improvements to Main Plaza.
In April 2025, City Council approved an ordinance for an agreement between the Main Plaza Conservancy and the City that provides for a donation of $5,000,000 from the Conservancy for the project.
