2016-2020: Land Acquisition/Planning/Design

FY 2017: Bicycle Infrastructure & Maintenance Program (IMP) began the real estate acquisition process for project site

FY 2018: funding of $500,000 and was held for acquisition purposes

FY 2019: Trail design created, contract awarded to EZ-Bel Construction

2021 Construction Begins

February 2021: Construction begins on shared use path, starting with a section of pathway from Nogalitos to S. Flores 

March 2021: Construction on concrete path from Nogalitos to S. Flores  is completed

Construction Tour with Residents

Residents near the Lone Star Rails to Trails joined Transportation Director Tomika Monterville in a discussion and preview of the pathway.

The meeting began at the Probandt Street entrance and the group then took a ½ mile walking tour.  Staff was on hand to discuss the bike and pedestrian path, including:

Potential opening date of trail
