Climate Ready Neighborhoods: Community Workshops
City of San Antonio’s Office of Sustainability is excited to announce the launch of Climate Ready Neighborhoods — A movement of community-based organizations increasing climate readiness and community resilience in neighborhoods throughout San Antonio by:
- Building Capacity: Build capacity for community-based organizations and/or neighborhood groups to serve as Neighborhood PODs (Points of Distribution) for their surrounding community.
- Developing Projects: Develop climate readiness projects in one or more of the 5 Resilience Areas:
- Programs & Services, Buildings & Landscape, Communications, Power, and/or Operations
- Operating Modes: Develop projects across 3 Preparedness Modes: Everyday, Disruption & Recovery
- Inclusivity & Equity: Meaningfully involve underserved communities, diverse groups or vulnerable populations
We will be building this network and piloting the program beginning in May 2024 — Join us for the kickoff of Climate Ready Neighborhoods. Community Workshops and the Climate Ready Neighborhood pilot program are for: Neighborhood Association leaders, community-minded businesses, Houses of Worship, nonprofits and other neighborhood leaders!
