City of San Antonio Cool Neighborhood Program Survey / Encuesta del programa de vecindarios frescos de la Cuidad de San Antonio
The City of San Antonio has worked with researchers from the University of Texas at San Antonio to identify the hottest neighborhoods in San Antonio. The study will help the City and the Office of Sustainability launch a Cool Neighborhood Program to focus on a specific areas in District 2, 3, and 5 with the goal of installing several heat reducing measures to cool your neighborhood. Before we begin, help us define where to focus our efforts by completing the survey below.
Pilot Locations:
Location 1 - District 2: Dafoste Ave from E. Commerce St. to Hub Ave. / Hub Ave. from Honey Blvd to Springdale Ave to E. Commerce St.
Location 2 - District 3: S. Flores St. from W. Mayfield Blvd to SW Military Dr. / Pleasanton Rd. from W. Mayfield Blvd to SW Military
Location 3 - District 5: S. Brazos St. from Tampico St to W. Cesar Chavez/ S. Colorado St. from W. Cesar Chavez to Grenet St.
Location 4 - District 5: S. Zarzamora St. from S. Laredo St. to Ceralvo St. / SW 18th St from Ceralvo St. to S. Laredo

La ciudad de San Antonio ha trabajado con investigadores de la Universidad de Texas en San Antonio para identificar los vecindarios más populares de San Antonio. Cool Neighborhoods District 3 Open House
Heat is on the rise, and San Antonio is only getting hotter. A research study by the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) showed Districts 2, 3, and 5 are some of the hottest districts in our City. High temperatures in our city are increasing every year, and it doesn’t just cause air pollution and public health issues; it can be fatal for some, especially children and seniors.
The City of San Antonio is taking action by implementing programs and initatives like:

Cool Roof
Trees
Shade Structures
and Water Features
