The City of San Antonio’s Department of Arts & Culture has identified Fire Station #24 Replacement as an opportunity for a public art project. The artwork will be a relief mural, meaning that there would be some three-dimensional elements that project from the brick wall facing Austin Highway. Currently in the beginning stages of the public art process, we need your input on what theme you’d like to see explored in the artwork design.
Founded in 1891, the San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD) has been protecting the Alamo City for over 130 years. Today, SAFD has over 1,000 uniformed officers across 51 fire stations who respond to fire, rescue, and medical first response service requests. Located in City Council District 10, the original Fire Station 24 was built in 1956. Fire Station #24 Replacement will be located in City Council District 2, while serving both districts.
El Departamento de Arte y Cultura de la Ciudad de San Antonio ha identificado el Reemplazo de la Estación de Bomberos #24 como una oportunidad para un proyecto de arte público. La obra de arte será un mural en relieve, lo que significa que habrá algunos elementos tridimensionales que se proyectan desde la pared de ladrillos frente a Austin Highway. Actualmente, en las etapas iniciales del proceso de arte público, necesitamos su opinión sobre qué tema le gustaría ver explorado en el diseño de la obra de arte.
Fundado en 1891, el Departamento de Bomberos de San Antonio (SAFD) ha estado protegiendo la Ciudad Alamo durante más de 130 años. Hoy, SAFD tiene más de 1,000 oficiales uniformados en 51 estaciones de bomberos que responden a las solicitudes de servicios de primeros auxilios, de rescate y de bomberos. Ubicada en el Distrito 10 del Concejo Municipal, la Estación de Bomberos 24 original fue construida en 1956. El reemplazo de la Estación de Bomberos n.° 24 se ubicará en el Distrito 2 del Concejo Municipal, mientras presta servicios a ambos distritos.
Lahat ng Public Art Project na pinamamahalaan ng Departamento ng Sining at Kultura ng Lungsod ng San Antonio ay sumusunod sa isang komprehensibong proseso. Kasama sa Proseso ng Pampublikong Sining ang anim na pangunahing checkpoint, kung saan nag-check in kami sa komunidad at mga stakeholder para sa mga update at feedback mula simula hanggang katapusan. Ang mga milestone na may asterisk ay nagpapahiwatig ng mga kinakailangang pag-apruba ng aming Public Art Committee at San Antonio Arts Commission.
