Project Information
Bridge Closure & Bridge Repair Work Update:
Repair work on the South Presa Bridge that started October 2, 2023 has been completed. Additional necessary repairs to the bridge have been identified, and will start as early as October 30, 2023 thru November 10, 2023. Please see the information below for an overall update:
Public Works along with EZ-Bel Construction will be commencing construction repairs for the Citywide Three Historical Bridge Rehabs (Augusta St, Crockett St., and South Presa St. Bridges over the San Antonio River) Project.
The work to be done includes the following Bridge Closure & Bridge Repair Work:
South Presa Street Bridge over the San Antonio River: Construction Starts: 10.30.23 thru 11.10.23. - New additional repairs
South Presa Street Bridge over the San Antonio River: Construction Starts: 10.2.23 thru 10.23.23. - Completed
Crockett Street Bridge over the San Antonio River: Construction Starts: 10.16.23 thru 10.20.23. - Completed
Augusta Street Bridge over the San Antonio River: Construction Starts: 10.23.23 thru 11.3.23. - On schedule
Due to weather conditions or unforeseen occurrences the closure date may be adjusted.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation while these improvements are in progress. While improvements are underway, here is some helpful information about the improvement project to assist you:
- Vehicles should not be parked on the street. If vehicles are in the path of the project and no one is available to move it, it will be towed to one of the streets in your area.
- Traffic detour barricades and signs will be provided to guide traffic through the construction as needed.
- Sidewalks on the Riverwalk level will be opened in the afternoon for full pedestrian access.
- In the event of adverse weather, environmental conditions, unforeseen equipment issues, or schedule conflicts, work will likely be rescheduled as soon as conditions permit.
